What is Search Engine Optimisation Marketing?

Basically, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is all about increasing your website’s presence and visibility in organic search results on the major search engines. Website owners look for an increased quality and quantity of website traffic, as well as exposure to their brand, through non-paid (known as “organic”) search engine results.

Why Is It Important?

The process of affecting the visibility of a website is imperative for you to increase your traffic and thus increase your profits. You can leverage SEO through tools like Jaaxy to help you create more traffic, increase leads and sales and ultimately increase revenue.

Paid advertising and other platforms can generate traffic to your website but the majority is driven by search engines. The biggest of course is Google. Apparently, less than 3% of traffic is generated by paid advertising.

People will undoubtedly be searching for any manner of things directly related to your website. For example, if you had a website relating to “dogs” then people could search for “dog leads”. Therefore, by using SEO Marketing you have more opportunities to connect with these people and become a trusted source for them.

It’s about understanding what people are searching for online, the answers they are seeking, the words they’re using, and the type of content they wish to consume. By using a tool like Jaaxy you can check out all the affiliate keywords you want to use in your Post, and therefore gain the greatest advantage in the keyword search.

Knowing the answers to these questions will allow you to connect to the people who are searching online for the solutions you offer.

How Do You Drive Traffic From Search Engines?

Let’s take for example, Google, as mentioned before it is the biggest search engine on the planet. It can vary from niche to niche but the chances are that Google will be the dominant player in search results surrounding your website.

So how do you drive traffic to your site?

Google is only looking for pages that contain high quality and relevant information about the searcher’s query. They determine this by “crawling” (reading) your website to see what is relevant. This is based on the Keywords it contains.

Quality is determined by many means and algorithms that Google use but it basically boils down to the number and quality of other websites that link to your page and site. If, you are getting site links from already trusted places, then your site will have a higher quality and therefore a higher ranking.

Other ways that help you rank higher are:

  • Site engagement – How do people react on your site? Do they just click on one link and then move on or do they stay and look further?
  • Loading Speed – Is your site mobile / tablet friendly?
  • Your content – Is your content unique? Is it high value content? If the answer to both of these is yes then you are going to get higher ranked.

How to Carry Out Keyword Research and Targeting

The first thing you need to find out is what are people searching for. This is known as Optimising and it identifies the Keywords people are using. This is a priority as you will not rank on Google without this.

There are several factors you will need to take into account when doing this:

  • Search Volume – How many people are searching your keywords? If there are thousands then you will have a massive competition and are likely to be a long way down the list, hence, nobody will click on your link. The opposite also is the same, if nobody is searching your keywords then you will not get any traffic.
  • How relevant is it? – Your keyword targeting has to be relevant to your niche. There is no point in directing people to your site for them to be faced with something that has nothing to do with what they are looking for. Yes, you will receive clicks, but low quality visits and therefore lower rankings.
  • Competition – Do you understand the competition ? Have you checked out the competition and the quality of their sites? You do not want to be facing massive competition, so tweaking your keywords can send people to your site instead of your competitions.

The good news is, there is a FREE Tool that can do all of this for you. It is called Jaaxy.

How does it work?

Here you will see a screen shot of a search i have carried out. All I have done is type in “Golf Clubs”

What is SEO Optimisation Marketing

Along the top you have :

  • AVG – This is the average amount of searches on that keyword per month
  • Traffic – Expected website visits if you make the first page in Google Rankings
  • QSR – Quoted Search Results – The number of competing websites with those exact words
  • KQI – Keyword Quality Indicator – Green is great, Yellow is OK and Red is poor.
  • SEO – Score based on traffic and competition. 1 -100. The higher the number the more likely to make the first page in Google Search.
  • Domains – These are the available domains you can purchase related to these keywords.

So, on clicking on “Get QSR” you get the following results on different keywords.

What is SEO Optimisation Marketing

Let’s take for example you write a blog about “Golf Clubs” If you leave it as “Golf Clubs” look at the competition you are going to have !!! There will be at least 166 competing websites and over 137000 searches carried out every month. What are the chances of someone landing on your page? Well, with an SEO of 71 very low.

Now we look at narrowing it down. If you had written a blog about “Wilson Golf Clubs” then this would be a completely different scenario. Still quite a high number of competing websites at 122 but your SEO is much higher.

From there on we can keep typing in keywords until we get the figures we want. The rule of thumb is an AVG of more than 40 and a QSR of less than 100.
